1. Legal notice
The HuntHood app is developed and published by Alicia Grendene, based in France (the "Publisher"). Data host: Supabase (AWS infrastructure), located in Ireland (European Union).
2. Purpose of the app
HuntHood is a technical platform connecting candidates (mainly backpackers on a Working Holiday visa) with local employers in Australia. HuntHood is not a recruitment agency or an employer. We are not a party to any employment contract that may be made between a user and an employer.
3. Access, account and visa
HuntHood is only for people aged 16 and over. Using the app under 16 is not allowed.
The app can be used without an account ("guest mode") or with an account.
Without an account, users can browse the app, prepare a journey, read the forum and use the "specified work" days calculator.
An account is needed to generate a journey, take part in the forum (post, reply, like, contact a member, report, block), publish a job offer and manage a profile.
Calculator in guest mode: the information entered (visa, work periods, jobs, payslips) is saved under an anonymous technical ID linked to the device. It is deleted automatically after 90 days without use, and can no longer be recovered if the app is deleted or if the user logs in to an existing account. By creating an account from the app, the user keeps this information. In guest mode, AI payslip reading is limited to one payslip; reading more requires an account. The calculator's results are an estimate only and do not replace the decision of the Department of Home Affairs.
An account not used for 3 years is deleted automatically, after an email warning sent 30 days before.
The app is free for candidates. Users declare on their honour that they:
Are aged 16 or over.
Hold a valid visa to work in Australia (Working Holiday Visa subclass 417 or 462, Student Visa, etc.).
Provide accurate information in their CV and documents.
4. Liability and safety ("Australia" clause)
The Publisher does its best to check the quality of job offers, but cannot guarantee that every offer is genuine.
The Publisher accepts no liability for:
Workplace safety: candidates must check that the farm, construction site or restaurant meets Australian safety standards.
Payment of wages: HuntHood does not guarantee the payment of wages. Users should refer to the Fair Work Ombudsman's pay rates in Australia.
Accidents: HuntHood cannot be held liable for accidents that happen while travelling or at the workplace.
5. Intellectual property
All parts of the app (design, code, HuntHood logo, text) are the exclusive property of the Publisher. Any reproduction is prohibited.
6. Location
Users agree to be located so that the service works properly (showing nearby jobs). They can turn this off in their phone settings, but the service will then be limited.
7. Community rules (Forum)
Anyone can read the community forum, including without an account; only content that has passed moderation is shown. Taking part (posting, replying, liking, contacting a member, reporting, blocking) is reserved for registered users aged 16 and over. It is strictly forbidden to post: illegal content, harassment or threats, sexual content, scams or requests for payment details outside the platform, or spam. Posts, comments and photos are checked automatically before they are shown (banned words list and OpenAI's multilingual moderation tool) and can be reported by any user; the Publisher reviews reports within 24 hours. Users can block another user at any time to stop seeing their content. The Publisher may remove content, or suspend or ban an account, if these rules are broken, without notice in serious cases (safety, illegal content).
8. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, and failing an amicable settlement, the competent courts are those of Ozoir-la-Ferrière, France. Note: users living in Australia keep the mandatory rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), which cannot be excluded by contract.
9. Specific terms for employers
9.1 Employer account: the Employer account can only be used to publish and manage job offers and to manage a profile. Employers must be aged 18 or over and declare that they act for a business genuinely established in Australia with a valid ABN (Australian Business Number).
9.2 Compliant job offers: employers agree to publish only real, available job offers that comply with Australian law, including the Fair Work Act 2009, minimum wages and applicable Awards, work health and safety (WHS) rules, and their candidates' visa conditions. The following are forbidden: undeclared work, pay below the legal minimum, fees charged to candidates to get a job, and misleading offers (especially about eligibility for the 88 days of "specified work").
9.3 Verification: the Publisher checks the ABN given against the Australian register (ABN Lookup), then the business's identity by one of the methods offered in the app: a link sent to the official email address, a call to the phone number on the business's Google listing, a review of a public page by the team, a code sent by post to the postal address, or a video call. The "Verified employer" badge does not commit the Publisher to the quality of the job offered.
9.4 Contact details: employers choose whether to show their phone number and can add a contact email address. They agree to use candidates' data only for the recruitment concerned, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Australia) and the GDPR.
9.5 Removal: the Publisher may remove a job offer or suspend an Employer account if these rules are broken or after a well-founded report, without notice in serious cases.
9.6 Liability: employers are solely responsible for the job offers they publish and for the working relationships they form with candidates.
