1. Introduction and data controller

The HuntHood app is published by Alicia Grendene, a sole trader (micro-entreprise) registered in France under SIRET number 92788290200012, based in Ozoir-la-Ferrière, France.

Protecting your data matters to us. As a French business, we apply the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), one of the highest levels of data protection in the world, even if you use the app from Australia.

2. Data we collect

To help you find work in Australia, we collect the following data:

Identity: last name, first name, date of birth, nationality (or nationalities), profile photo.

Contact: email address, phone number (shown on your profile only if you choose to).

Professional: CV (PDF), cover letter, experience, skills, languages spoken.

Visa status (Working Holiday): visa type, driving licence, certifications (RSA, White Card).

Documents (if you add them): passport, visa (subclass, visa year, validity dates, passport country), payslips, contracts, employer letters, bank statements, as well as the jobs, leave and work periods you enter in the days calculator. These files are stored in a private space that only you can access.

Location data: your GPS position (only when you use the app to look for jobs around you).

Community content (Forum): the posts (text and photos), hashtags, comments, likes, reports, blocks and WhatsApp contact requests you publish or make on the community forum.

Employer accounts: business name, ABN and the related public information (Australian ABN Lookup register), official and contact email addresses, website, postal address, phone number, and the information provided to verify the account.

App feedback: the rating and comment you send, with the app version, platform and language used.

Using the app without an account (guest mode): if you use the days calculator without creating an account, an anonymous technical ID is created for your device. What you enter in the calculator (visa, work periods, jobs, payslips) is linked to it. No identity data (name, email, date of birth) is asked for. Simply browsing the app and the forum without an account does not create any ID.

3. How we use your data

Your data is used to:

Create your candidate profile and generate your sharing QR code.

Show you the job offers available around your location.

Let employers see your profile (only if you share your QR code with them or apply for one of their jobs).

Pre-fill a work period from a payslip, if you use "Fill in with AI" and have agreed to it (see section 5).

Moderate the forum: every post, comment and photo is checked automatically before it is shown (see section 5).

Put two forum members in touch: your phone number is only shared with another member if you accept their WhatsApp contact request.

Verify employer accounts and their job offers, and send you the emails related to your account (confirmation, verification, inactivity warning).

4. Storage, transfers and retention

Your data is hosted on secure servers in Europe (Supabase, AWS infrastructure in Ireland, subject to the GDPR).

For users in Australia: by using HuntHood, you agree that your data is transferred to and stored in Europe. This transfer is necessary to provide the service offered by the French publisher.

Exceptions: automatic forum moderation, AI payslip reading (if you turn it on), sending emails and searching for businesses are handled by service providers based in the United States, outside the European Union (see section 5).

How long we keep your data:

Account: as long as you use it. You can delete it at any time in Settings › My account. An account not used for 3 years is deleted automatically, with all its data and documents; we email you 30 days before, and logging in is enough to keep it.

Guest mode: data linked to an anonymous ID (files included) is deleted automatically after 90 days without using the calculator. If you create an account from the app, it is kept and linked to your account. If you delete the app or log in to another account, it can no longer be recovered and is deleted at the end of that period.

Reports: one year, then deleted (unless still being reviewed).

App feedback: two years.

Employer verification files: one year after the decision. Verification links and codes are deleted 30 days after they expire.

AI payslip reading log (date of each reading): 30 days.

Forum content: until you delete it or delete your account.

5. Data sharing and service providers

We never sell your personal data to third parties. Your data is only shared with the recruiters and employers you choose to contact through the app or by letting them scan your QR code.

Service provider — OpenAI (United States), publisher of ChatGPT, payslip reading: only if you have given your explicit consent, the payslip you add to the calculator (first 3 pages at most) is sent to OpenAI, which reads it to pre-fill the work period form (pay period dates, hours, days, contract type, workplace postcode, industry). Your name, the employer's name, your TFN, bank details, address, date of birth and pay amounts are never extracted. HuntHood does not keep the AI's answer; only the date of each reading is recorded, to limit readings to 200 a day (one payslip only in guest mode, without an account). This processing takes place outside the European Union; OpenAI does not use data sent through its API to train its models; it may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse, then deletes it. You can withdraw your consent at any time in Settings › App preferences.

Service provider — OpenAI (United States), forum moderation: the text of every post and comment, and the photo of a post, is sent to OpenAI's moderation API, without your name or contact details. Content found to break the rules is not published. Same safeguards as above (no model training, kept for 30 days at most to detect abuse).

Service provider — Resend (United States): sends transactional emails (confirmation, employer verification, inactivity warning); it receives your email address and the content of the message.

Service provider — Google (United States), Google Maps Platform: searches for businesses and job offers around a location, and checks employers' Google listings. Only a location or a business name is sent, never your identity.

Australian public register (ABN Lookup): the ABN given by an employer is checked against it; the public information returned is kept with the employer account.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

Under the law, you have the following rights:

Right of access and rectification: you can edit your information directly in the app.

Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"): you can permanently delete your account in the app's Settings › My account. All your data and files are then erased from our servers.

Right to data portability: you can download all your data as a file in Settings › My account › Download my data. Your documents can be downloaded from "My documents".

You can also object to or ask us to restrict the processing of your data, and file a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL, www.cnil.fr).
